Many of you will already have heard the encouraging news that a community buyout of The Star is now being explored.

As one of the village’s most valued meeting places, The Star has long been at the heart of local life, somewhere to meet friends, enjoy a meal, host events, or simply feel part of the community. With the future of the pub uncertain, a group of local residents has begun looking at whether the village could come together to purchase and safeguard The Star as a community-owned asset.

Early conversations have been positive, and the next step will be to gauge interest and support from across the parish, initially through a questionnaire and pledge document. No decisions have been made yet, and nothing can proceed without strong local backing. Over the coming weeks there will be opportunities to learn more about how a community buyout works, what it could mean for the village, and how residents might get involved, whether through investment, volunteering, or simply sharing ideas for the pub’s future.
